ToAZ is a Russian chemical company and one of the world’s leading producers of ammonia, a prime ingredient in mineral fertilizers. Headquartered in Togliatti, Samara Region, Russia, ToAZ holds 11% of global ammonia production, about 20% of the industry in Russia. The company is made up of approximately 10,000 employees and is designated as a company of “strategic economic importance” by the government of Russia.

Trafalgar Trafhold Limited, Instantania Holdings Limited, Kamara Limited, and Bairiki Incorporated are the majority shareholders of ToAZ. They collectively own more than 70% of the outstanding shares in ToAZ.

Vladimir Makhlai is a Russian engineer and businessman who became Director General of ToAZ in 1985. He then served as President and CEO of the company from 1996 to 2011, when he stepped down. He currently resides in London.

Sergei Makhlai is a Russian-born businessman who served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ToAZ at various times between 2011 and 2017. Makhlai moved to the United States in 1994. He has served on the Board of Directors for Togliattikhimbank since 2004 and on the Board of Directors for the RTS Bank since 2005. He is the son of Vladimir Makhlai.

Evgeny Korolev was CEO of ToAZ between 2011 and 2015. He first joined ToAZ in 1994, working in various managerial positions until 2004, when he left to work as General Director of OJSC “Volgocemmash”. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as General Director of the TogliattiAzot Corporation. After 2015, he served as a strategic development adviser for ToAZ.

Vyacheslav Suslov was appointed as General Director of ToAZ in January 2015, replacing Evgeny Korolev. Suslov has been working for ToAZ since 2000, when he first joined as an Automation Department Manager. In November 2008, he was appointed as Manager of the Telecommunications, Technical Security Equipment and Automatic Fire-Alarm Systems Department. In March 2011 he was elected as a member of ToAZ’s Board of Directors.

Nikolai Neplyuyev has been ToAZ’ Finance Director since 2016. Prior to joining ToAZ, he served as manager of the audit and consulting services department of Ernst & Young in Moscow.

Andreas Zivy is a Swiss Businessman who serves as Chairman of the Swiss agribusiness company Ameropa Holding AG. Zivy joined Ameropa in 1980 as head of the company’s office in France. In 1986, he became the Vice President of Ameropa AG in Basel. He became CEO of Ameropa AG in 1995, and in 2010 became Chairman and President of Ameropa Holding AG.

Beat Ruprecht is the Director of Nitrochem Distribution AG, a subsidiary of Ameropa Holding AG. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Ameropa since 2012.
